The post is just titled TRUST.
It’s a touching reminder of what is going on half a world away from us.

Many residents along the southern half of the Mississippi remain concerned about flooding. And many more people throughout Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois are starting to cleanup as the floodwaters have already caused much devestation, and are now going down. A website pulled together a bunch of images from the flooding in Iowa, you can view all of them, by CLICKING HERE. These few pictures give us an idea of what residents are dealing with. This picture stuck out to me, it made me pause to consider the power of creation. For floodwaters to move that many homes is just amazing.

The good folks at Consumer Reports did a little research into the coffee we are drinking (don’t worry, there wasn’t anything bad in the coffee). They were testing to see just how de-caf’ed your de-caf coffee is (purchased at McDonalds, BK, Dunkin Donuts, etc…). You know, is there any caffeine in there?
CLICK HERE to see their results.
This is what I got out of the study:
Half of the cups they tested contained no caffeine
In the other half of the cups they found anywhere from 3 mg to 35 mg of caffeine (a normal cup of coffee contains about 100 mg of caffeine)
While web surfing today, I came across this video, and I have to confess, it’s a pretty touching story for me, because this is the stuff I want my kids to learn in sports:

Amidst all the severe weather and flooding across Iowa last week, Lori Mehmen was able to snap this amazing photograph. She said she saw the funnel cloud and went to grab her camera, I most likely would have just run for cover.

I think in this age of trick photography and photoshop we are trained to not believe that pictures like this are real, with that said, I think it is a real picture.
CLICK HERE for a more meteorological explanation of what the picture is showing. (look closer, to me, it looks like the cloud is licking those silos)

Tuesday-June 10th was a very special day for Nona and me as our daughter Rachel was married in an idyllic setting at Enger Park in Duluth to Jacob Lindberg of Superior, WI. The two met one year ago and spent a long time talking on that rock overlooking Enger golf course on June 10th one year ago. As their love grew stronger (and their talking and walking has never stopped), they determined in their hearts that they wanted to be married on the very spot they first met.
The day began with clouds and rain, but by early afternoon the clouds parted and a nearly perfect window of weather opened. Mark Pavola, Director of Encounter/Youth for Christ in Duluth performed the ceremony, which was so God-honoring. All 5 of our children, their spouses, and our two grandchildren were on hand (Chris and Nicole’s son Samuel is 9 weeks, Nate and Debra are expecting any day). Jake’s parents, brother and sister were all there as well. What a blessing to enjoy this moment together to celebrate Jake and Rachel’s love for each other.
This means an empty nest for Nona and me so with all 5 of our children married to wonderful partners, (all in the span of 3 years) we will lock our door tonight and do a dance to celebrate the past 29 years of parenthood and God’s wonderful provision for our children for whom we have prayed. God is Good!
